An international observatory complex atop a volcanic ridge on the Canary Island of La Palma, hosting telescopes operated by more than a dozen countries including the Gran Telescopio Canarias and the William Herschel Telescope. Its high altitude and remote Atlantic location give it some of the darkest, most stable skies in the Northern Hemisphere.
