A millimeter-wavelength radio interferometer high in the French Alps, built by the Institut de radioastronomie millimetrique and expanded over the 2010s from the original Plateau de Bure Interferometer into NOEMA, one of the most sensitive millimeter arrays in the Northern Hemisphere. It observes cold gas and dust in star-forming regions and distant galaxies.
