A radio astronomy and geodesy observatory operated by MIT in Westford, Massachusetts, built around a 37-meter dish originally constructed for the US military in the 1960s. It has played a central role in developing Very Long Baseline Interferometry and, decades later, in the Event Horizon Telescope collaboration that produced the first images of a black hole's shadow.
