South Korea's principal optical astronomical observatory, sited on Mount Bohyeon near Yeongcheon and operated as part of the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute. It participates in the East-Asian Planet Search Network and in international asteroid-discovery efforts, and its landmark dome is depicted on South Korea's 10,000 won banknote.
