India's first dedicated multi-wavelength space observatory, launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation in 2015 to observe celestial objects simultaneously across ultraviolet, optical and X-ray light with a single platform. It extended India's space astronomy program beyond the earlier Aryabhata satellite into sustained observational research.
