China's first orbital launch vehicle, developed from the DF-4 ballistic missile, which launched Dong Fang Hong 1 in April 1970, China's first satellite and the fifth successful indigenous satellite launch by any nation. The satellite famously broadcast the patriotic song "The East Is Red" from orbit.
