162173 Ryugu, generally known as Ryugu, is a near-Earth object and potentially hazardous asteroid of the Apollo group, about 900 metres in diameter. The Japanese spacecraft Hayabusa2 arrived at Ryugu in June 2018, took samples, and returned the sample capsule to Earth on 5 December 2020, which showed the presence of organic compounds including uracil and vitamin B3.
