Messier 98, also known as M98 or NGC 4192, is a spiral galaxy in the constellation Coma Berenices and a member of the Virgo Cluster, discovered by Pierre Mechain in 1781. It lies roughly 44 to 50 million light-years from Earth and is one of only a few Virgo Cluster galaxies showing a blueshift, indicating it is moving toward the Milky Way as it falls through the cluster.
