Messier 95, also known as M95 or NGC 3351, is a barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Leo, discovered by Pierre Mechain in 1781. It lies roughly 33 million light-years from Earth, is a member of the M96 Group along with Messier 96 and Messier 105, and shows a prominent ring of active star formation surrounding its central bar.
