Messier 52, also known as M52, NGC 7654 or the Scorpion Cluster, is an open cluster of stars in the constellation Cassiopeia, discovered by Charles Messier in 1774. It can be seen from Earth with binoculars under good night-sky conditions, its brightness reduced more strongly toward its southern half by interstellar extinction, and its metallicity is estimated to be somewhat below that of the Sun.
