The Great Sagittarius Cluster, catalogued as Messier 22 and also designated NGC 6656, is an elliptical globular cluster in the constellation Sagittarius, near the Milky Way's central bulge. It is one of the brightest globular clusters in the sky, with hundreds of stars bright enough to resolve through an eight-inch telescope, and it lies just northeast of the "Teapot" asterism formed by the brighter stars of Sagittarius.
