Caldwell 29, also known as NGC 5005, is a spiral galaxy in the constellation Canes Venatici, discovered by William Herschel in 1785. It lies roughly 65 million light-years from Earth and shows a bright, dust-mottled nucleus surrounded by tightly wound spiral arms.
