Caldwell 16, also known as NGC 7243, is an open cluster of stars in the constellation Lacerta, discovered by William Herschel in 1787. It lies roughly 2,800 light-years from Earth and is a loose, scattered cluster best viewed with binoculars or a low-power telescope.
