Wang Yaping is a Chinese People Liberation Army Air Force pilot and astronaut who became the second Chinese woman to fly in space, aboard the Shenzhou 10 mission in 2013, during which she delivered a widely watched science lecture broadcast live to students across China from orbit. She later flew aboard the Shenzhou 13 mission in 2021 to the new Tiangong space station, during which she became the first Chinese woman to perform a spacewalk.
