Vladimir Kovalyonok is a Soviet cosmonaut who commanded three missions to Salyut space stations between 1977 and 1981, including a nearly 140-day stay aboard Salyut 6 in 1978. His missions included hosting several Interkosmos guest cosmonauts from allied nations, part of the Soviet programs practice of flying international crew members alongside its own cosmonauts to partner-nation space stations.
