Thomas Pesquet is a French European Space Agency astronaut and former commercial airline pilot who has flown two long-duration missions to the International Space Station, in 2016 and again in 2021. On his second mission he became the first French citizen to command the space station, leading part of Expedition 65. Pesquet has become widely known for the extensive photography of Earth he shares publicly from orbit, contributing to broader public engagement with the space station program in France and across Europe.
