Pablo Alvarez Fernandez is a Spanish aeronautical engineer and astronaut who worked as a structural engineer for Airbus and Safran on programs including the A350, A380, Boeing 777 and COMAC C919, then as a mechanical architect for the Rosalind Franklin rover on the ExoMars mission, and later as a project manager at Airbus Spain. He was selected by the European Space Agency in November 2022 and graduated as a full astronaut in April 2024, becoming the second Spanish astronaut and the first in 31 years since Pedro Duque's own graduation in 1993.
