Nicole Mann, known as Duke, is an American test pilot and NASA astronaut, an F/A-18 Hornet pilot and graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Stanford University and the United States Naval Test Pilot School. A United States Marine with more than 2,500 flight hours in 25 aircraft types, 200 carrier landings and 47 combat missions flown in Iraq and Afghanistan, she completed astronaut training in 2015 and was originally assigned to the first crewed test flight of the Boeing CST-100 Starliner before being reassigned to SpaceX Crew-5, on which she became the first woman to command a NASA Commercial Crew Program launch.
