Jean-Francois Clervoy is a French engineer and astronaut who served as both a CNES and European Space Agency astronaut. He was selected in the second group of French astronauts in 1985, joined the ESA Astronaut Corps in 1992, and was also selected as part of NASA Astronaut Group 14 that year. He flew three Space Shuttle missions, STS-66 in 1994, STS-84 in 1997 as payload commander for a Shuttle-Mir docking mission, and STS-103 in 1999 for Hubble Space Telescope repairs, accumulating just over 28 days in space, and now serves as Senior Astronaut of the European Astronaut Center in Cologne and chairman of Novespace, which operates parabolic flight research.
