Skyrora is a space launch company headquartered in Glasgow, Scotland, that designs and manufactures launch vehicles for small satellites as well as portable space launch systems. It was founded on June 21, 2017 by chief executive Volodymyr Levykin, and British astronaut Tim Peake serves on its board. Skyrora has developed Ecosene, a rocket fuel made from unrecyclable plastic waste that the company says produces 45 percent less greenhouse gas than traditional fuel, and in August 2025 the UK Civil Aviation Authority granted it the first space launch licence issued to a UK-based rocket company, authorizing launches from SaxaVord Spaceport. The company employed about 160 people as of 2022 and is developing the three-stage Skyrora XL orbital launch vehicle, with a first flight anticipated in 2027.
