South Korea's national space agency, founded in 1989 and headquartered in the Daedeok Science Town area of Daejeon. Developed the Nuri (KSLV-II) rocket, South Korea's first indigenously built satellite launch vehicle, which reached orbit in 2022; its first stage uses four clustered engines, each producing 75 metric tons of thrust, with all three stages built on domestically developed rocket engines.
