Intuitive Machines, Inc. is an American space exploration company headquartered in Houston, Texas, founded in 2013 by Stephen Altemus, Kam Ghaffarian and Tim Crain to provide commercial and government access to the Moon. NASA has awarded the company lunar surface delivery task orders through its Commercial Lunar Payload Services initiative, and the company went public in February 2023, trading on the Nasdaq under the ticker LUNR. In February 2024 its Odysseus lander achieved a soft but unstable landing on the lunar surface, the first American spacecraft to land on the Moon since the Apollo program, and its second lander, Athena, tipped over during a March 2025 landing attempt after problems with its laser altimeter.
